Job Description

We are growing – and are now looking for a calculation engineer in durability & strength for our Trollhättan team!

With us, you will work on exciting and technically challenging calculation assignments – for both Swedish and global clients. We are a team with deep expertise in advanced FEM analyses and work broadly within CAE areas such as durability, NVH, and safety.

In some projects, we follow the client's processes. In others, we have the trust to develop entirely new methods and working practices, making everyday life both varied and rewarding.

The Role

We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in durability and strength calculations, preferably from the automotive industry.
As a calculation engineer with us:

• You will drive projects where we have overall responsibility for analysis deliveries.
• You will work closely with clients – sometimes on-site, often in a hybrid solution.
• You will work with all parts of vehicles, as well as assignments in the defense industry.
• You will be part of a team with strong cohesion and high technical competence.

The work is varied, dynamic, and offers great opportunities to deepen and broaden your technical skills.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a MSc focused on structural mechanics and experience in FEM calculations, preferably from the automotive sector. You are familiar with tools such as ANSA and OptiStruct/Nastran, and if you also have knowledge of Abaqus, we consider it a significant advantage.

We would like you to have a connection to Trollhättan or the surrounding area, and that you want to build your career here in the long term. A driver's license is advantageous as some client assignments may require travel.

• You have a few years of experience in the field and are used to working independently.
• You are communicative and have an easy time creating strong, professional relationships – both internally and externally.
• You thrive in a team and enjoy collaborating to achieve the best results.
• You are curious, engaged, and can quickly immerse yourself in new technologies, domains, and working methods.
• You represent AFRY in a confident and professional manner and welcome new types of assignments.
• You express yourself fluently in English, both verbally and in writing, and can present analysis results clearly and pedagogically.
